With a couple of hours to spare before visitors landed for the week I decided to spend the time on the water. With the tide against me I headed for deeper water.
With a morning of light winds forecast I decided to spend some time on the water. The southerlies were supposed to build throughout the morning to peak in the afternoon.
I had to bring auld Betsy to the NCT today for her test. She passed with flying colours so I decided to go fishing in the afternoon to see if a good morning would herald some luck.
Where day one on the east coast was all about having the craic and not taking the fishing too seriously, day two was an all out assault on the smoothhounds…..
With all exams officially finished it was time to get back to doing what I love doing. The Galway weather was glorious this evening and it made for a glassy sea on the bay.
The water is warming up, the sun is starting to show herself again and Spring has most definitely arrived. Time to get out onto the water…….
Very sad news is circulating through kayak fishing circles that the sport has suffered its first shark fatality of the Maui coast.
