I have had only one go at the hounds this year and that was from a charter, a far cry from a kayak! That fact had to be rectified and what better time to do it than on a bank holiday?

I managed to get out and have another look at the river this weekend, in the hopes that some silver had started moving in. A glorious morning had to capitalised on so I headed into the countryside.

I am eagerly awaiting the lengthening days. It seems that since Christmas my fishing time has been limited. I did manage to get out on Sunday though…….

I headed back to the east coast for the weekend. Fishing was on the agenda but not in the conventional form. I was on the lookout for a new ‘fishing wagon’.

The festive season has been and passed. Exams are off the agenda for a considerable length of time. I suddenly have a bit of spare time on my hands. What am I going to do?

With a busy weekend where a lot had to be attended to I made sure that I had a couple of hours to fish a river on the way back home this afternoon.

An unusually sunny September evening had to be capitalised on and there was only ever going to be one way to do that; kayak fishing. Today I had company on the water.

The new college timetable was seen today. It has good and bad aspects to it. It does allow for a kayak fishing session on Mondays which is a good start. Some of the other days look promising too!

This summer is going to see a very transient existence for myself, being spread between counties Clare, Galway, Dublin and Wicklow in the main. It gives me an opportunity to fish a wide range of areas which will be both a blessing and a curse………

Having derived great pleasure from smashing the pollack and ray over the last few days, I decided that a change was in order. Winds for the day were a little stiff for Lough Corrib so I decided to have a look at the river…….
