I headed back to the east coast for the weekend. Fishing was on the agenda but not in the conventional form. I was on the lookout for a new ‘fishing wagon’.
Calm conditions have, in typical fashion, coincided with starting a job! I still managed to get a short stint on the water a couple of days ago even if the fish didn’t want to come out to play.
Even the very brave and the very stupid would not attempt launching a kayak in the current weather and swells we are experiencing. So what’s the alternative?
The weather has been disastrous for kayak fishing for the last week or so. Next week looks like more of the same. This always happens when you get a couple of weeks free from responsibilities.
The festive season has been and passed. Exams are off the agenda for a considerable length of time. I suddenly have a bit of spare time on my hands. What am I going to do?
With a busy weekend where a lot had to be attended to I made sure that I had a couple of hours to fish a river on the way back home this afternoon.
I have been too busy to go fishing for the last couple of weeks, a sentence that to me sounds as repulsive as it reads! But today I was going to get out onto the water….
It’s been a busy few days in general. I managed to get out a couple of days ago but only just managed to have a look at the camera this afternoon…..
So back I was looking at the Shannon again. I wanted to take advantage of a flat calm river and try to target a small pier for conger, convinced that the area might shelter one or two.
A surprise day free of lectures was only ever going to spent one way. You guessed it! Kayak fishing! A dash to the east coast was very much on the cards.
